SECTION 02784 <br />CONCRETE UNIT PAVERS <br />PART1- GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />Section includes all material, labor, equipment, tools and superintendence necessary to furnish and install <br />interlocking concrete turf blocks complete in place <br />1.02 RELATED SECTION <br />1. Section 02722 - Stabilized Subgrade <br />2. Section 02725 - Lime Rock Base <br />3. Section 02774 - Portland Cement Concrete Curb and Gutter <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />Shop Drawings: <br />Submit shop drawings of the paving pattern as indicated on the drawings. <br />Sample Panel: <br />At a location to be approved by the Consultant, the Contractor shall construct a sample panel, 10' x 10', <br />using the concrete turf blocks and methods proposed for use in the finished Work. The Contractor shall <br />rebuild or review the sample panels as often as required to obtain the Consultant's approval of the <br />pavers, pattern, cleaning and workmanship. The panel shall not be altered, moved or destroyed without <br />the Consultant's approval. <br />Testing: <br />Destructive testing reports for representative samples of unit pavers at no less than a ratio of 1 unit per <br />5,000 SF of surface area of installed pavers shall be forwarded to Consultant by an approved <br />independent local testing firm contracted by Contractor prior to shipment and delivery to site. Test <br />results to be in accordance with ASTM C936 -82. <br />1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />Contractor constructing paver work must have 24 months of previous continuous experience, under the <br />same corporate name, in the installation of compressed concrete paver units in the State of Florida. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MANUFACTURERS <br />Approved manufacturer's include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />1. Paver Module -Pompano Beach, Florida. <br />2.02 CONCRETE PAVERS <br />Interlocking concrete turf blocks shall be composed of compressed concrete and meet or exceed <br />performance standards set by Paver Module Turfstone or approved equal.
