SECTION 02810 <br />IRRIGATION SYSTEM <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 WORK INCLUDED <br />A. The median islands on Collins Avenue have an existing `Wethose' subsurface irrigation system. This <br />system is operational in the majority of the median islands, however, a portion of this system has to be <br />repaired and retrofitted. This means that in many of the medians additional lateral lines need to be <br />added. In addition, there are numerous areas to be landscaped that have no irrigation. These areas will <br />require new water service and a new `Wethose' irrigation system. <br />B. The Landscape Contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: <br />In collaboration with the City Public Works Department, complete a field analysis and review <br />of the existing subsurface irrigation system. This analysis is to be completed by a <br />knowledgeable irrigation supervisor and will serve as the basis for the addition to and <br />retrofitting of, the existing irrigation system. This Irrigation Supervisor must be a Dade <br />County licensed Irrigation Plumber. <br />2. Preparation of a detailed irrigation plan, at a suitable scale, for detailing the proposed water <br />service and new subsurface irrigation system proposed for the areas presently devoid of <br />irrigation, including required directional bores. <br />Preparation of a conventional irrigation system plan, at a suitable scale, detailing a new <br />irrigation system on the west side of Collins Avenue adjacent to the west perimeter fence, <br />between station points 102 +40 to 114 +20. <br />C. The Irrigation Plans defined above will be presented to the City's Landscape Architectural Consultant <br />for review and approval prior to start of work. <br />PART 2 - EXECUTION <br />A. The work defined above will be paid for based on the unit prices bid in the Schedule of Values (page <br />00410 -4 and 00410 -5 ). <br />02810 -1 <br />
