Cover products which are subject to <br />deterioration with impervious sheet coverings, provide adequate <br />ventilation to avoid condensation. <br />' 4. Store loose granular materials in a well drained area on solid <br />surfaces to prevent mixing with foreign matter. <br />' B. All materials and equipment to be incorporated in the work shall be <br />handled and stored by the Contractor before, during, and after shipment <br />in a manner to prevent warping, twisting, bending, breaking, chipping, <br />irusting, and any injury, theft or damage of any kind whatsoever to the <br />material or equipment. <br />' C. Cement, sand and lime shall be stored under a roof and off the ground <br />and shall be kept completely dry at all times. All structural and <br />miscellaneous steel, and reinforcing steel shall be stored off the ground <br />or otherwise to prevent accumulations of dirt or grease, and to minimize <br />rusting. Brick, block and similar masonry products shall be handled and <br />stored in a manner to reduce breakage, chipping, cracking, and spalling <br />to a minimum. <br />D. Moving parts shall be rotated a minimum of once weekly to insure <br />proper lubrications and to avoid metal -to -metal "welding ". Upon <br />installation of the equipment, the Contractor shall start the equipment, <br />at least half load, once weekly for an adequate period of time to insure <br />that the equipment does not deteriorate from lack of use. <br />' E. All materials which, in the opinion of the Engineer, have become so <br />damaged as to be unfit for the use intended or specified shall be <br />promptly removed from the site of the work, and the Contractor shall <br />receive no compensation for the damaged material or its removal. <br />F. Arrange storage in a manner to provide easy access for inspection. <br />Make periodic inspections of stored Products to assure that Products are <br />maintained under specific conditions, and free from damage or <br />deterioration. <br />G. Protection After Installation: <br />1. Provide substantial coverings as necessary to protect installed <br />products from damage from traffic and subsequent construction <br />operations.
