' C. Do not begin planting of trees until deficiencies are corrected, or plants <br />replaced. <br />' 3.02 LOCATION /STAKING <br />A. Stake out locations for plants and outline of planting beds on ground. <br />' B. Do not begin excavation until stake out of plant locations and plant <br />beds are acceptable to the Landscape Architect. <br />' C. All trees are to be located and staked for inspection by the Landscape <br />Architect. <br />3.03 PREPARATION <br />NOTE: All annuals beds shall receive a full 6 <br />' inches of amended planting soil mix tilled to <br />a minimum depth of 6 inches. <br />(c) For plants not requiring soil mix the entire <br />' bed shall be tilled by mechanical means to a <br />depth of 12 inches. <br />(2) Width or Diameter: <br />(a) All 2- or 3- gallon material shall be placed <br />within a minimum 13-1/2 inch planting hole, <br />and backfilled with the specified planting soil <br />mix. <br />(b) All plant material sized 1 gallon or less, or <br />material planted 24 inches O.C. or less shall <br />receive complete bed amending. That is <br />07/03 02490 -7 03- 4138.A <br />A. Pits and Trenches: <br />1. Shape: <br />a. Vertical sides and flat bottom. <br />b. Plant pits to be square or circular. <br />2. Size: <br />a. For Trees: <br />(1) Depth: Minimum 2 ft. from finish grade and <br />increased as necessary to accommodate planting <br />' <br />ball and at least 6 inch planting soil backfill below <br />ball or roots. <br />(2) Width or Diameter: 2 ft. greater than diameter of <br />plating ball unless otherwise approved by <br />' <br />Landscape Architect for special planting areas. <br />b.
