SECTION 02580 <br />PAVEMENT MARKINGS AND SIGNING <br />PART 1 -GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE <br />A. The Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, materials and <br />incidentals necessary to install pavement markings and signing in <br />accordance with the plans and the following specifications. <br />1.02 REFERENCED SPECIFICATIONS, CODES AND STANDARDS <br />A. Manual of Uniform Control Devices, latest edition <br />B. FDOT Design Standards, 1992 edition <br />C. FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 1991 <br />edition <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Paint shall be of the color indicated on plans, Sherwin - Williams "Pro - <br />Mar" Traffic Marking Paint, series B29 or Glidden Traffic paint #63228. <br />B. Thermoplastic traffic stripes and markings shall meet the requirements <br />of AASHTO M249 -79 (1986) and exceptions as indicated in the "FDOT <br />Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction ", 1991 <br />edition. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />A. Parking stalls shall be marked in accordance with the typical pattern <br />indicated on the criteria drawings. Stall width and depth, and drive <br />widths indicated are minimum and must not be reduced. Provide two <br />(2) coats of paint, 15 mil minimum dry film thickness. <br />B. Directional arrows shall be marked on pavement in location and of size <br />indicated on drawings. <br />C. Paint top and face of concrete curb at front sidewalk, parking lot <br />entrances and traffic islands and asphalt entrance ramps. <br />D. Paint concrete base and base plate at all parking lot lighting standards <br />and steel pipe base of handicapped parking identification sign. <br />07/03 02580 -1 03- 4138.A <br />
