B. Systems Drawings: All drawings committed to Owner shall be generated on computer Aided <br />Drafting (CAD) equipment. Quality plotter or Laser Printer hard copies are required. A copy of <br />the drawing files shall also be delivered. <br />C. Equipment Labels: All labels to be installed on equipment shall be engraved self - adhesive <br />laminated or photo process Mylar composition with a lettering generated by printing equipment. <br />1.4. WORK BY OTHERS <br />A. All cabling to be provided by Owner. <br />1. Cabling provided includes home runs from duress stations and buttons back to <br />communications closets. <br />2. All cable terminations, splices, and other connections must be provided by Security <br />Installer. <br />1.5. ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS <br />A. Only materials and equipment specified in theses specifications shall be considered without <br />prior approval. In no case shall equipment or materials of lesser design, quality, or workmanship <br />be acceptable. Newer models shall replace discontinued equipment. <br />B. Substitution shall be permitted when submission of complete data on substitution has been <br />reviewed and approved. For the terms of this specification, the following are defined as: <br />1. The term "or equal' shall allow any product that meets the overall performance specification <br />of the listed product(s). <br />2. The term "or approved equal' shall mean that the base bid must include the listed <br />product(s) but non- listed products will be considered under the following conditions: If the <br />system bidder wishes to use a non - listed item, it must be listed as a separate addition or <br />deduction alternate item outside of the base bid, with all appropriate documentation as to <br />features, benefits, savings and performance specifications (as specified above) included. No <br />alternates or non - listed items will be accepted without the base bid as specified. <br />3. If neither of the above terms is used, no alternate products shall be allowed. <br />1.6. WARRANTY AND SERVICE RESPONSIBILITY <br />A. All equipment and components shall be guaranteed free of defects and any faulty workmanship <br />for a period of one year after final acceptance, regardless of manufacturer warranty of a lesser <br />period. <br />B. The Contractor shall replace defective materials and repair faulty workmanship within twenty - <br />four hours of discovery, except emergency conditions (system failures), which must be placed <br />in service within six (6) hours after notification, all at no cost to the Owner. <br />C. The system shall be guaranteed for a period of one (1) year from the date of final acceptance <br />against defective materials, workmanship, and improper adjustment. Any defective material <br />shall be replaced at no expense to the Owner, provided it does not show abuse. <br />1.7. TRAINING <br />A. Provide a minimum of 2 hours of training per system to the owner or his designated personnel. If <br />desired by the Owner, videotape the training session and provide a copy to the Owner for later <br />review, reference, and to train new employees on the operation of the systems. <br />8/04 17715 -2 <br />
