C. The Security System Installer must take such precautions, as are necessary to guard against <br />electro- magnetic and electro- static hum; to supply adequate ventilation; to install the equipment <br />so as to provide maximum safety to the operator. <br />D. Care shall be exercised in wiring, so as to avoid damage to the cable and to the equipment. <br />Joints and connections shall be made with resin -core solder or with mechanical connectors. <br />Wiring shall be installed in strict adherence to standards professional practices. <br />E. Equipment shall have an engraved or photo laminated label- identifying area served by that <br />device. <br />3.8. PROTECTION OF EQUIPMENT <br />A. Security equipment is sensitivity to dust, dirt, condensing humidity and other products normally <br />found on construction sites. The Security System Installer shall take necessary precautions to <br />insure that equipment is properly stored and protected. Failure to meet this criterion shall result <br />in the replacement of exposed equipment at the discretion of the Owner or Owner's <br />representative. <br />B. The Contractor shall be responsible for all materials, equipment, and supplies sold and delivered <br />to the Owner under this contract until final inspection of the work and acceptance thereof by the <br />Owner. In the event that any such material, equipment, or supplies are lost, stolen, damaged, <br />or destroyed prior to final inspection and acceptance, the Contractor shall replace same without <br />additional cost to the Owner. <br />3.9. TEST AND PERFORMANCE VERIFICATION <br />A. Performance testing and adjustment procedures for the system(s) shall include: <br />1. Each device is to be tested for full functionality and operation as a system. Verification of <br />all alarm displays annunciations and printouts are required. <br />2. Perform all tests and verifications in the presence of the Architect, Consultant or owner as <br />required. Provide written proof of compliance with the test and demonstration of the system <br />performance. <br />B. If the need for additional adjustment becomes evident during demonstrations and testing, the <br />Installer's work shall continue until the system (s) operates properly. If final acceptance is <br />delayed because of defective equipment or because installation is not in accordance with these <br />specifications, the Installer shall pay for all additional time and expenses during any extensions <br />of the acceptance - testing period. <br />END OF SECTION <br />8/04 17720 -9 <br />
