CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />Bid No. 01 -09 -01 <br />Page No. 24 <br />PARKS/MEDIANS/RIGHT-OF-WAY MAINTENANCE <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />E. Seasonal Color <br />1. Replace on a quarterly, or as needed basis, at total of +/- 30,000, 4 1/2" <br />pot Seasonal color Plants, Florida #1 or better, on an "as needed" basis, (4 <br />times per year) as per city direction. Add soil amendments, soil, fungicide, <br />and Nutricote fertilizer, as needed, to effect vigorous growth. <br />2. Care must be taken in the planting process to avoid damage to the <br />irrigation system that exists. Any damage to this irrigation system, caused <br />by the landscape contractor, will be repaired at no expense to the City. <br />3. Apply one initial and one "mid- term" application of Nutricote total 70 day <br />13 -3 -13 fertilizer for each seasonal color planting. <br />F. Phoenix Dactilifera (Date Palms) <br />1. Frequency of Treatment <br />A. Palms will be fertilized and treated for disease and insect control <br />on a bi- monthly basis. <br />2. Materials and Methods <br />A. Fertilization (6 applications) <br />1. Fertilizer to be 13 -03 -13 with minor elements. <br />2. Application rate will be 16 pounds per palm per year or <br />approximately 2.5 pounds per application. <br />3. Apply fertilizer in a ring 12 " -16" out from the trunk. <br />B. Disease Control <br />1. Six applications per year of the following root - drench <br />fungicides. <br />a. Chip -co 26019 combined with Chip -co Aliette at <br />label rates. <br />
