<br />Perform a variety of senior level analytical, planning, and management tasks
<br />related to the identification, design, and construction of capital improvement
<br />projects undertaken through a $400 million dollar City of Miami Beach CIP
<br />program encompassing park, facility, streetscape, stormwater, and water
<br />improvements.
<br />Project Management: Manage all aspects of capital project implementation
<br />during design and development phase. Oversee the selection and orientation of
<br />private sector engineering and design firms contracted to design projects. Work
<br />with design firms and program management firms to identify project
<br />opportunities, needs, priorities, and funding. Establish and manage project
<br />budgets which incorporate funding from multiple sources with varying
<br />restrictions on use. Incorporate current urban, neighborhood, and park
<br />planning principles into project designs. Analyze and apply relevant
<br />demographic, socioeconomic, land use, and zoning information. Coordinate
<br />input from City departments and relevant agencies including Planning and
<br />Historic Preservation Boards and City Commission. Obtain consensus on
<br />project design from extremely active and involved residents and neighborhood
<br />associations. Give presentations to community groups and regulatory and
<br />advisory boards. Manage project design review and approval at designated
<br />design completion levels. Work with project construction managers to ensure
<br />smooth transition of primary management role upon initiation of construction.
<br />Assist project construction managers with planning, design, and mitigation
<br />issues during construction phase.
<br />Progr4m Development: Played an integral role in the creation of the 3 year old
<br />CIP Office and initiated the planning effort for 13 neighborhood right of way
<br />improvement projects comprised of stormwater, water, and streetscape
<br />elements. Played a primary role in the creation of the CIP public information
<br />campaign, including developing overall program approach and image, web site
<br />design and content, informational video, and the design and specific content of
<br />EDAW INC DESIGN, PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENTS WORLDWIDE
