Statement of Qualifications <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to hire a Landscape Architectural consultant that <br />has demonstrated experience in the following areas: <br />a. Right -of -way beautification; <br />b. Median and swale landscaping; <br />c. Development of maintenance standards; <br />d. Beach and Dunescaping; <br />e. Active and Passive Development; <br />f. Irrigation design, operation and maintenance; <br />g. Wetland restoration; and <br />h. Sensitivity to environmental issues unique to coastal barrier islands. <br />Miller Legg has a vast amount of experience in these potential project task areas. Our <br />' experience in the development of right -of -way and median landscape beautification <br />projects is demonstrated in the project approach used for this RFQ. <br />In the area of maintenance standards, Miller Legg has been instrumental in the <br />development of management plans for various recreational facilities. These <br />recreational and environmental facilities include the City of Pembroke Pines' Academic <br />Village and the City of Coral Springs' Sandy Ridge Sanctuary. These management <br />plans address key issues as they relate to the long -term sustainability of the natural <br />resources found on these projects as well as the daily operational issues as they are <br />required for various security, safety, accessibility and aesthetic issues. In addition, <br />Miller Legg has also developed maintenance standards for a variety of different <br />facilities. These maintenance standards have included landscape maintenance <br />requirements for various planting areas that Miller Legg has designed. Tree relocation <br />specifications for the FDOT District IV were developed by Miller Legg. These tree <br />relocation specifications were prepared for the entire District, which includes the <br />Counties from Broward to Indian River. <br />Miller Legg is proud of its reputation <br />as a leader in the area of <br />environmental design. Miller Legg <br />has a full - service environmental <br />staff with vast experience in both <br />freshwater and coastal systems. <br />Miller Legg's Environmental and <br />Landscape Architectural <br />Departments work as a team in <br />order to develop designs that are <br />aesthetically pleasing while <br />responding and respecting natural <br />resources.
