upgrades the data network's performance and manageability while providing a <br />flexible and scalable foundation to accommodate future growth. <br />Led an assessment, strategy, architecture and RFP development engagement for a <br />leading accounting firm's US domestic network services. The firm developed an <br />aggressive plan to replace their current host -based back office applications with <br />distributed systems, and was looking to position their next- generation infrastructure <br />to support voice and video transport services. The Request for Proposal work <br />included creation of the RFP itself, along with a vendor response evaluation <br />framework and analytical models for network bandwidth and cost evaluation. Also <br />led a follow -on engagement to develop a Vendor Management process for the <br />subsequent contract award, providing facilitation and process documentation. <br />Performed on network assessment, strategy and architectures engagements for <br />major regional healthcare providers, international banks and an automobile <br />manufacturer. <br />Team leader on a series of Network management tools engagements for clients in <br />the pharmaceutical and consumer electronics industries. These engagements <br />involved the implementation and customization of hardware and software to enable <br />event management for the enterprise network infrastructure, midrange and LAN <br />servers, network switches, hubs and routers. Engagement tasks included vendor <br />MIB analysis, facilitation of several Tools Customization Workshops, installation and <br />customization of management tools to process events, troubleshooting and end -user <br />training. <br />• Performed a network assessment, strategy, architecture and RFP development for a <br />major international food manufacturing and distribution corporation's worldwide <br />telecommunications services. The requested services spanned over 60 countries on <br />five continents, and included voice, data and video transport services. <br />In addition, Mr. Sales has participated in engagements performed by IBM consulting <br />teams throughout the United States and Europe, providing advisory input and <br />support. <br />Internal IBM Responsibilities <br />Technical Leader for the Homeland Security Expert Community for the Northeast <br />Region. This EC was unique relative to other ECs in that it was more than a virtual <br />community for sharing ideas. Closely tied to the Homeland Security Key Play, this <br />team of 20 Professionals focused on understanding the marketplace and developing <br />the portfolio, skills and vendor alignments in accordance with it. Marketing personnel <br />were as engaged in the EC as Practitioners. Mr. Sales set the charter and directed <br />teams to understand the marketplace and relevant technologies in video surveillance, <br />access control, storage, wireless networking and applications. <br />IT Architect Profession Leader for the Northeast Region of IBM Global Services <br />Integrated Technology Services division, responsible for the professional <br />development of approximately 35 technical professionals. During this time, Mr. Sales <br />has performed Nomination Package reviews and provided guidance to Practitioners <br />seeking Certification or professional growth as an IT Architect.
