1 1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />C. Repair damage to other plants, lawn or construction work during plant <br />replacement at no cost to the Owner (this includes, but is not limited to, <br />damage to curbs, walks, roads, fences, site furnishings, etc.). <br />1.06 TAGGING <br />A. Trees and shrubs within the designated areas for relocation shall be <br />clearly marked by means of yellow plastic surveyor's ribbons and <br />coordinated with Landscape Architect and shall be inspected and <br />approved by the Owner's representative prior to root pruning and /or <br />digging. <br />1.07 ROOT PRUNING <br />A. Trees to be relocated shall be root pruned at least 45 days prior to digging <br />with clean, sharp equipment. No mechanical means (ie. Backhoes) may <br />be utilized for the root pruning only shovels or jackhammer type shovels <br />shall be permitted. A pneumatic excavating tool may be utilized to expose <br />the roots at locations within 5' from existing trees to better route lines or <br />pipes to preserve the root mass of those trees noted to remain. The <br />specific requirements for root ball sizes shall be in accordance with the <br />table below or to the drip line of the tree. The root - pruned trees shall be <br />watered 3 times a week by Landscape Contractor as part of this contract. <br />B. Palms and shrubs to be relocated shall be root pruned at least 30 days <br />prior to digging, with clean, sharp equipment. Palms relocated by tree <br />spade may forego the root - pruning requirement, but shall adhere to root <br />ball size charts below. <br />C. Root Ball Size Chart - Note: Root ball sizes shall be in accordance with <br />minimum standards set forth in Grades and Standards for Nursery Plants <br />Part II, Palms and Trees, Florida Department of Agriculture. <br />1 07/06 02481 -2 05 -5564 <br />A. <br />Contractor to submit a list of equipment, procedure, and labor force <br />anticipated for use of shrub and tree relocation. <br />B. <br />Contractor to submit a schedule by day as to how many units can be dug <br />and relocated to specified areas. Note for those materials that may <br />require root pruning, the relocation schedule to begin at the end of the <br />specified root pruning period. <br />C. <br />Contractor shall apply and secure any and all permits if required by any <br />city, state, or federal agency or governing body. <br />1 <br />1.05 GUARANTEE <br />A. <br />Guarantee all plant material for a period of twelve months after date of <br />1 <br />Substantial Completion. <br />B. <br />Replacement plants under this guarantee shall be replaced within two <br />i <br />weeks of rejection and guaranteed for twelve months from date of <br />installation. <br />C.
