2.03 FERTILIZER <br />A. FS 0- F- 241c(1), Grade A or B. <br />B. The Chemical designation for granular fertilizer shall be 12 -8 -8, with at <br />least 50% of the nitrogen form a non - water - soluble organic source for all <br />plantings except on lake banks, and at least 80% of the nitrogen form a <br />non - water - soluble organic source for all plantings on the lake banks. <br />Refer to Section 02484 for complete fertilizer requirements. <br />C. Apply and distribute by methods and rates as recommended by <br />manufacturer. <br />2.04 HERBICIDES <br />A. As recommended by the State Department of Agriculture. <br />2.05 STAKES <br />A. Softwood, 3/4 inch diameter, 8 inch length. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A. Verify that soil to depth of 12 inches in compacted areas has been tilled to <br />produce a loose, friable soil conducive to exceptional sod growth. <br />B. Water dry soil to depth of 6 inches 48 hours before sodding. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />A. Transplant sod within 48 hours after harvesting. <br />B. Begin sodding at bottom of slopes. <br />C. Lay first row of sod in straight line with long dimension of pads parallel to <br />slope contours. <br />D. Butt side and end joints. Ensure that joints are tight, thereby eliminating <br />the need to patch and /or topdress to eliminate gaps. <br />E. Stagger end joints in adjacent rows. <br />F.
