F. Sealant color shall be selected by the Engineer. <br />2.02 EXPANSION JOINTS - OTHER <br />A. Premolded joint filler shall be 3/4 -inch thick or as shown on the Drawings <br />and shall be a self- expanding cork, Servicised Products, W.R. Grace and <br />Company, Code No. 4324 equal by W.R. Meadows, Inc., or approved <br />substitution. <br />B. Joint sealant shall be a two component synthetic rubber compound based <br />on Thiokol liquid polysulphide polymer by W.R. Grade and Company, <br />Toch Bros., Tremco Co., or equal. Sealant shall develop a Shore <br />Hardness of at least 30 after seven days curing. Back -up material where <br />required shall be approved closed cell polyethylene foam rods of <br />diameters to suit joint conditions. <br />IEND OF SECTION <br />December 2006 03251 -2 06 -5723 <br />C. <br />Primer shall be as recommended by sealant manufacturer. <br />2.03 WATERSTOPS <br />A. <br />Waterstops for construction joints, where indicated, shall be 8 or 12 <br />inches x 1/8 -inch steel and be hot - dipped galvanized. <br />PART 3 - <br />EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSTALLATION <br />tA. <br />Steel waterstops shall have all joints fully welded and shall be carefully set <br />and held in place so that 4- inches extends straight into concrete <br />placement at each side of joint. <br />B. <br />Premolded joint fillers shall be installed at all locations shown on the <br />Drawings. <br />C. <br />Joint sealant for all joints indicated on the Drawings shall be placed to the <br />depths shown. Preparation of surfaces, priming, and the handling and <br />preparation of materials shall be in complete compliance with the <br />manufacturer's instructions as approved. <br />D. <br />Flex -Seal systems shall be installed in accordance with the <br />manufacturer's recommendations. <br />IEND OF SECTION <br />December 2006 03251 -2 06 -5723 <br />
