Provide all equipment and materials, and do all work necessary to protect <br />existing trees and plants from damage as a result of the contractor's operations. <br /> <br />1.02 RELATED WORK <br /> <br />A. Section 02210 - Fine Grading <br /> <br />B. Section 02481 - Shrub and Tree Relocation <br /> <br />C. Section 02490 - Trees, Plants and Groundcover <br /> <br />1.03 REFERENCED STANDARDS <br /> <br />A. Comply with applicable requirements of the following standards. Where these <br />standards conflict with other specified requirements, the most restrictive <br />requirements shall govern. <br /> <br />1. International Society of Arboriculture (ISA): Guide for establishing values <br />of trees and other plants. <br /> <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Proposed methods, materials to be employed, and schedule for effecting tree <br />and plant protection shall be submitted for approval. <br /> <br />1.05 DAMAGE PENALTIES <br /> <br />A. Certain specimen trees adjacent to construction areas and in other key locations <br />will be identified by the Owner and the Landscape Architect, and marked with red <br />tags. Loss or damage to these trees will result in replacement with equal <br />canopy. <br /> <br />B. If any trees or shrubs are damaged that are designated to be saved then <br />replacement is required. They shall be replaced with equal number and diameter <br />of trees or shrubs of the same species and variety, as specified by the Owner <br />and Architect, shall be furnished and planted by the Contractor, no additional <br />cost to owner. The total inch diameter of the replacement trees or shrubs shall <br />equal the diameter of the tree of shrub to be replaced. The Contractor shall not <br />be liable for any loss or damage which occurs while the Contractor is complying <br />with instructions given by the Owner, Landscape Architect, or Arborist working <br />on the project. <br /> <br />06/07 <br /> <br />01532-1 <br /> <br />03-4197 <br />
