Two types of signs shall be posted throughout the property with respect to the <br />care of vegetation. The signs are as follows: <br /> <br />1. A sign at all access points to the construction areas, informing all <br />personnel that they are entering "Protection Area". <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 TREE PROTECTION FENCING <br /> <br />A. Tree protection fencing shall be: <br /> <br />1. Mesh fence 6 ft. high minimum, with 4"x4"x6' pressure treated wood <br />posts. <br /> <br />B. Posts shall be spaced 10ft. on center maximum. <br /> <br />C. Fencing other than that specified above shall be subject to the approval of the <br />Architect. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSTALLATION OF FENCING <br /> <br />A. Prior to start of demolition work and clearing and grubbing operations, tree <br />protection fencing shall be installed in accordance with the following: <br /> <br />1. Fencing shall be installed at the tree protection areas as directed by the <br />Landscape Architect. <br />2. Fencing shall be located along the cut and fill lines staked by the project <br />surveyor and approved by the Architect and Owner. <br /> <br />3.02 ROOT PRUNING <br /> <br />A. Where construction will be in close proximity to existing trees designated to <br />remain, roots shall be pruned. Proximity shall be as determined in the field by <br />the Architect. Root pruning shall be performed as specified in Section 02490 <br />TREES, PLANTS AND GROUND COVERS. <br /> <br />3.03 CLEARING WITHIN PROTECTION AREAS <br /> <br />A. Selective clearing within tree protection areas shall only be performed when and <br />as directed by the Architect. <br /> <br />3.04 REMOVAL OF PROTECTION <br /> <br />A. Except as otherwise indicated or requested by Architect, temporary protection <br />devices and facilities installed during course of the work shall be removed only <br />after all work which may injure or damage trees and plants is completed. <br /> <br />END OF SECTION <br /> <br />06/07 <br /> <br />01532-2 <br /> <br />03-4197 <br />
