Our firm is interested in significant work, not measured by size,
but by relevance to a project's impact on its investors, community
and setting. As practiced by EDAW, planning and design are
action-oriented processes that identify problems and create
and evaluate alternate solutions to meet the client's goals. Each
project is approached with this philosophy Through rigorous
management and flexible decision-making processes, results are
maximized within given time and cost constraints.
David Plummer & Associates - Traffic Engineering I
Parking Garage Consulting

David Plummer & Associates, (DPA) was incorporated in 1978
for the specific purpose of providing transportation-oriented
services to public sector clients throughout South Florida. Since
that time, the firm has experienced a steady, yet controlled,
growth opening offices in Fort Myers, Palm Beach County and
Ft. Lauderdale to serve their clients in Florida better. Initially,
their services emphasized transportation planning and traffic
engineering design. They now offer complete transportation
services from each office location, including transportation
planning, traffic engineering, highway design, minor structural
engineering, signalization design, construction engineering
inspection, as well as, environmental assessments.

DPA has conducted transportation planning, traffic operations
and traffic safety studies for various government jurisdictions
in South Florida. These services include signal warrant studies
and analysis, capacity analysis, and cost benefit analysis. Their
roadway design efforts range from minor intersection design to
signal design to highway design to major interchange design.
Members of their firm have also been involved in numerous state
and local committees concerned with the development of Level
of Service Standards and Concurrency Implementation.

With dozens of Comprehensive Plan Amendments and traffic
circulation elements completed, DPA brings special insight to,
as well as, thorough knowledge of, traffic analysis, planning,
concurrency, and the zoning issues involved in these projects.

Because of the firm's business approach to engineering, its
principals are experienced in the complex relations among
financial, technical, and "people" aspects of a successful
project. The balance between engineering and business enables
them to work with their clients from the earliest stages as part of
the team of architects, planners, attorneys, and finance officers
helping to shape and direct projects from the earliest planning
stages through the approval process and into implementation.

Their public clients have included the Florida Department
of Transportation, Miami-Dade County, Palm Beach County,
Broward County, Collier County, Lee County, St. Lucie County,
Charlotte County and Monroe County, as well as a variety of
municipalities including: Coral Gables, Palm Beach Gardens,
Delray Beach, Sanibellsland, Miami, Homestead, Fort
Lauderdale, Boca Raton and Fort Myers. Providing services
to these clients has enabled their firm to establish excellent
working relationships with the various local, regional, and state
government agencies. Since the inception of the firm, DPA
has worked extensively with Spillis Candela DMJM on a variety
of public and private sector projects and enjoys an excellent
working relationship with our firm.
