These two divisions have prepared conceptual master plans for large-scale
urban and suburban areas, as well as for business districts, to foster economic sustainability,
improve mobility, create pedestrian friendly environments, and provide a "sense of place" for
communities.

On a number of projects, we have successfully merged streetscape design elements with traffic
management concepts to achieve innovative and effective traffic calming designs. In these
instances, careful analysis and planning resulted in the implementation of several aesthetically
pleasing traffic calming devices/elements, which also met safety/roadway criteria, an optimal
blend of form and function.

Parks

Successful park planning and design requires a strong start, strict attention to detail, efficient
finalization, and care to ensure that the facility can be properly maintained upon completion.
Our team is ready to meet those challenges and will gather all relevant data, meticulously
analyze the site's opportunities and constraints, and be prepared to answer questions at any
time. Careful preparation on the part of our professionals is the key to providing park
improvements that are completed on time and within budget, while providing the community
with valuable recreational resources. Our key design criteria for recreational projects are as
follows: meeting client needs; increasing playability; providing product durability; minimizing
maintenance requirements; designing for safety; and remaining sensitive to surrounding site
uses.

Our park projects have ranged from neighborhood pocket parks to full-scale community parks
and from minor enhancements such as additional pavilions and inline hockey rinks to complete
brand new facilities. In 2005, our team completed final refinements for the comprehensive
planning of two parks for the City of Miami Gardens budgeted at $20,000,000. Our tasks
included programming, public involvement, evaluation of existing facilities, needs assessment,
conceptual plans, budgets and grant assistance.

Structural Engineering Services

Keith and Schnars has provided structural engineering services to the Florida Department of
Transportation, County governments, municipal road departments, and numerous private
developers. This experience includes design, permitting, and project development.
Our current service offering includes Project Design and Environmental Studies; Bridge
Development Reports; Bridge and Retaining Wall Design; Bridge Inspections; Bridge Emergency
Repairs and Rehabilitation; Bridge Construction Engineering and Inspection; Bulkhead Wall
Design; Marina and Dock Design; and Sign and Signal Structure Design.

We also assist governmental agencies with Plan Phase Reviews and Constructability Plan
.
Reviews.

-
-
il~~~ ~~~~R:'r;.~~~~~~~~~
-
-
