The Jazz Fest was a three day, multi- <br />venue event that featured an international line-up of jazz stars. Produced by the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach in partnership with the Sunny Isles Beach Tourism and Marketing <br />Council, the weekend brought the extraordinary and diverse sounds of jazz for all . <br />attendees to enjoy while benefiting Joshua's Heart Foundation (www,ioshuasheart.ora) <br />and the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation (www.mchfora), <br /> <br />The Jazz Fest weekend began on Thursday, October 14th with an Evening VIP Poster- <br />Unveiling Party at the Trump International Resort, located at 18001 Collins Avenue. This <br />year, the poster was designed by local artist, Joel Grunzweig and auctioned off to benefit <br />Joshua's Heart Foundation and the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation <br />(www,mchfora). <br /> <br />The Festival officially kicked off on Friday, October 15th from 8:00 to 11 :00 p,m. with a <br />sizzling performance by pianist and composer, Tony Sona at the elegant Jazz Club in <br />the Acqualina Resort & Spa, located at 17875 Collins Avenue. <br /> <br />Headlining the festival on Saturday, October 16th, was an electric performance by one of <br />the most recorded saxophonists in jazz history, Ed Calle and his all-star Jazz band, <br />which took place at the spectacular Samson Oceanfront Park, located at 17425 Collins <br />Avenue. Calle enticed the crowd with a unique combination of smooth rhythmic sounds <br />and upbeat notes. Opening for Ed Calle, was the Afro-Cuban Jazz band, Oriente, <br />followed by legendary saxophonist extraordinaire, Jesse Jones, JR. and a soothing <br />serenade by talented songstress, Yvonne Brown. <br /> <br />Guests in the VIP area enjoyed reserved seating and food compliments of the Newport <br />Beachside Resort. The general public had plenty of space on the great lawn for lounge <br />chairs and blankets under the starlit sky.
