SMG considers <br />safety and accident prevention of utmost importance to the well being of its employees <br />and to the productive efficiency of the contract. It is SMG's intent to ensure that safe <br />working conditions are sustained at all times in all work areas. Therefore, it is our policy <br />to furnish our employees a place of employment free from recognized hazards that could <br />inflict physical harm by promoting safety and environmental awareness and training, and <br />complying with all regulations pursuant to the contract. <br /> <br />1. TraininQ: <br /> <br />We will provide two types of training: <br /> <br />>- Training for specific tasks <br />>- Training in accident avoidance and prevention. <br /> <br />a. New Employee Indoctrination: <br /> <br />A new employee can be defined as any person unfamiliar with the actual job operation. <br />This definition includes persons: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />New to the company <br />New to a particular workplace <br />New to a particular crew <br />New to a particular task or process <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />All new employees reporting to this project will be oriented to company policies, special <br />site safety requirements and safety procedures for their assigned tasks. <br /> <br />Our Operations Manager & Area Supervisors will assume the orientation duties, distribute <br />safety rules and materials, and explain them to all employees, making sure they are read <br />and understood. In addition, they will: <br /> <br />Inquire into the worker's previous experience. <br />Describe work to be performed and what is expected of the worker. <br />Explain proper use of required personal protective equipment. <br /> <br />8 <br />
