By far the
most efficient way to reduce vegetative debris, open burning is conducted by piling material and
burning it. This method is used only with prior approval by our client since this activity does create a
lot of smoke that could impact our client's citizens.

Grinding / Chipping
Another method for reducing eligible debris is by grinding or chipping. Grinding and open burning
are the fastest ways to reduce debris. Primarily using tub grinders, eligible debris would be reduced
and sorted into piles. All operators of the grinders would receive proper safety and operational
instructions. Piles of mulch or wood chippings would be
closely monitored to reduce the threat of combustion. Also
because of this threat, such piles will be eliminated as
quickly as possible, either through redistribution to
landfills that could use the material, hauling to power plants
to be used as boiler fuel, or as soil amendment for aggregate
material.

B.

c.

....

Grinding Operations at a TDSRS

I
I
I

I Wh..1 Stop -.......

Air Curtain Pit Burner

Blo..r Nouel

l::':li _ ~----..L.--.! l'~--It.f
I' 'I' I" I
....
