I highly recommend MCM for any project of
similar size and complexity without reservation. "
Dennis E. Caserta
Senior Project Manager
Office of School Facilities - Construction
Miami-Dade County Public Schools

Sunny Isles Beach Community K-B
"MCM Construction was always courteous to the staff and
respectful of our wishes. They worked tirelessly to ensure
that our concerns were addressed and that issues were
resolved in a timely fashion and with a favorable outcome.
We could not have asked for a more cooperative, dedicated
company. "
Dr. Annette Weissman
Principal
Sunny Isles Beach Community K-8

South Pointe Park
"Since commencement of construction activities MCM has .
de"!onstr~ted their. commitment to the City to c~mplete the
Project with ~he highest quality of service, and ahead of
schedule... Smce commencement of construction activities
MCM has demo~strat~d their. commitm~nt to the City t~
complete the Project with the highest qualtty of service as of
the date of this letter, and ahead of schedule. " '
Mario Gonzalez-Pola
Sr. Capital Improvements Coordinator
City of Miami Beach

Regarding the Sched.ule for Heritage Park & Parking Garage
we unders!and the City's need for a prompt delivery in May of
2010 or prior. As MCM develops this schedule we will focus
on t~e early delivery of the Garage in Phase 1 to allow CSIB
Publi~ Works Dept. to vacate their current staging area in the
footprint of the new Park. This early delivery milestone will
a!~o allow the. ~ity to benefit from the use of the garage by
Citizens and VIsitors while the Park is completed.

Overall ~he Project delivery schedule will provide the Garage
for use ~n February, provided we commence in July. As the
garage IS constructed the utilities in the right of way serving
the g~rage and park will be installed. Also MCM will begin
work. In the Park. concurrently with the garage wherever
~os~lble, perf~rmlng earthwork, installing drainage, site
lighting conduits, foundations and other improvements all
co~rdinated with ~he Public Works Dept. to assure there'are
no Impacts to their operations.

This approach will provide the City the early use of the
Garage and delivery of the Park prior to their May deadline.

~

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS

MATERIAL PROCUREMENT
MCM has learned that the best approach to material
pro.c~rement ~s to centralize it's purchasing rather than allow
indiVidual projects to Sub-contract the project. This allows a
team of trained procurement agents who have reviewed and
understand the project specifications to buy only materials
specified for the project.

T~is approach. also allows the procurementteam to repeatedly
price from a wide array of vendors, and establishes a network
of competitive pricing allowing us to secure the best rates for
specified materials and equipment on behalf of our Clients.

1.5.9 STATEMENT OF EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE WITH CM-AT-RISK METHOD
M.CM is very familiar with the Construction Management at
Risk methodology. The most recent projects delivered are:
· Sunny Isles Beach K-8 School $32 M
Target North Miami Beach $ 4.6 M
Target Davie $ 9.2 M
Target Dadeland $ 2.7 M
Wynwood Lofts $ 4.3 M
Blackstone Headquarters $ 12 M

These are only the most recent CM deliveries MCM has
learned from these projects and others that ma~y facets of
the CM approach comprise the "Best Value" to our Clients.
Over the last few years we have been able to save our Clients
millions of dollars in Construction and Maintenance costs
through our Value Engineering, Constructability Reviews
and Coordination efforts. '

The cost of the Sunny Isles Beach K-8 Community School '"
alone was reduced by over $1.5 million from the early stages ~
of design, without this effort the School Board would have ~
be~~ unable to proceed with the Project and provide the :E
facility to the community. !

A ~ey CM responsibili.ty MC~ emp.hasizes is analyzing i
project scope and design. DUring thiS period we look for ~
enhanced efficiencies during Construction giving the Project ~
~ear term cost benefit?, and reviewing constructablity and ~
life cycle costs analYSIS;. recommending different systems ]
an.d approaches to prOVide long term cost savings to the .!i!
Client through reduced maintenance requirements and ~
construction of reliable and efficient systems. ~
g

This approach, couple~ with MCM's focus on quality control, 1
schedules, and selection of only the best qualified sub- ";-
contractors for a project assure Project success through the :;i;
CM at risk delivery method. ~
ci
:z:
~
C><

.
14
