The Lakemont site was a small sliver of land at the edge of a detention pond and pedestrian walking trail requiring careful design to create a skatepark that integrated with the existing topography. Grindline served as Designer and the Prime Contractor on this project. The construction site was located in an existing park, nestled between many mature, existing trees. Grindline incorporated the trees into the design creating skateable paths that went around the trees. This helped integrate the skatepark into it's surroundings and also gives the space a more open feel while skating the park. Problems securing the owners targeted construction budget delayed construction until summer of 2008. Grindline made use of it's in-house design staff and came up with an updated design that fit into the original bid, while offering exciting new features and techniques developed during the years that passed between design and construction. The result was an updated design with no added costs to the owner.
