<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting <br /> <br />April 21, 2011 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />10M. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />the Purchase of Concrete Site Amenities from Wausau Tile, Inc. for Heritage Park, in <br />an Amount Not to Exceed $35,000.00, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A", a Sole Source <br />Vendor; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br />Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: [City Clerk's Note: Additional information was distributed prior to the meeting. <br />See additional action under Item 4A.] City Clerk Hines read the title, and Cultural and <br />Human Services Director Susan Simpson reported that this amount was included in the total <br />figure to complete the Project, noting that a brochure and photographs were distributed. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Mayor Ede1cup noted that it is a "green" product, and Ms. Simpson said yes we are using <br />recycled glass that will be blue, matching the Park, and our City logo will be included. <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2011-1711 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />ION. A Resolution of the City Commission ofthe City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />an Agreement with Miami-Dade County for Information Technology Services Including <br />Updating and Maintaining the City's Website, in an Amount Not to Exceed $12,480.00, <br />Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; <br />Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; <br />Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Assistant City Manager/Finance MinaI Shah <br />reported noting that this is a one year contract at the same cost we have paid in prior years. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Aelion seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2011-1712 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />100. Add-On: <br />A Resolution ofthe City Commission ofthe City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Ratifying the <br />Execution of an Agreement with Alan J. Cohen for the Position of City Manager of the <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Providing the Mayor and the <br />City Attorney with the Authority to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Agreement; <br />Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: [City Clerk's Note: Documents distributed prior to the meeting. This item was <br />heard out of order, after Item 6A. See additional action under Item 4A.] Mayor Ede1cup <br />reported that they had many applicants for the position of City Manager, and after meeting <br />with many applicants, he has determined that Alan Cohen is best suited for this job, and he <br />recommended him to the Commission for approval. Alan Cohen is originally from Ithaca, <br />New York, and he has spent many years there as not only the Manager but also its Mayor <br />because they have a Mayor/Manager form of government. Afterwards he spent a number of <br />years in the consulting business and most recently he has been spending time in Prance <br /> <br />11 <br />
