<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting <br /> <br />April 21, 2011 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />getting his Master's Degree in Business. Of all of the candidates that they interviewed, he <br />feels that Alan has the qualifications, desire and stamina to help build Sunny Isles Beach into <br />our great community. He noted that Mr. Cohen will begin on Wednesday, June 1,2011. <br />Alan Cohen was present and thanked the Mayor and the Commission. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />City Attorney Ottinot noted that there was one minor language amendment in the Agreement, <br />and Commissioner Scholl amended his motion that the City Attorney can make any <br />corrections to the language in the Agreement. <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Commissioner Aelion seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution, as amended. Resolution No. 2011-1713 was adopted by a voice vote of5-0 in <br />favor. <br /> <br />lOP. Add-On from Discussion Item 12A below: <br />A Resolution ofthe City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Authorizing <br />the City Manager and the City Attorney to Negotiate a Design/Build Contract with 4M <br />Investors, LLC., to Design and Build an Upscale Lifestyle Center in Gateway Park <br />Consisting of a Park, Parking Garage, and Restaurant(s); Authorizing the City Manager <br />and City Attorney to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an <br />Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: [City Clerk's Note: See additional action below, 12A.] Mayor Edelcup reported. <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Discussion on the Revised Proposal for the Gateway Park to be Located on Sunny Isles <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br />Action: [City Clerk's Note: A booklet of renderings of the project was distributed to the <br />Commission.] Mayor Edelcup asked Cliff Schulman, Esq., representing 4M Investors, LLC., <br />to present the revised proposal for the Gateway Park project. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: Cliff Schulman, Esq.; Joe Milton; Eduardo Castifieira; Bob Welsh <br /> <br />Cliff Schulman, Esq., representing 4M Investors, gave background information of what has <br />occurred since the last time they appeared before the Commission [December 16,2010]. He <br />asked Joe Milton to explain to the Commission why the aquarium idea is no longer before <br />them tonight. Joe Milton gave some background on St. Tropez, the Town Center area, and <br />how the aquarium idea came about. He said that they went out for a feasibility study and to <br /> <br />12 <br />
