Except for the cutting of holes in floors for chutes, holes through which to drop materials, <br />preparation of storage space, and similar necessary preparatory work, the demolition of <br />exterior walls and floor construction will begin at the top of the structure and proceed <br />downward. <br /> <br />18. Each story of exterior wall and floor construction will be removed and dropped into the <br />storage space before commencing the removal of exterior walls and floors in the story <br />next below. <br /> <br />19. Employee entrances to multi-story structures being demolished will be completely <br />protected by sidewalk sheds or canopies, or both, providing protection from the face of <br />the building for a minimum of 8 feet. All such canopies will be at least 2 feet wider than <br />the building entrances or openings (1 foot wider on each side thereof), and will be <br />capable of sustaining a load of 150 pounds per square foot. <br /> <br />20. During the planning stage of the job, Cross Construction Services, Inc. will determine all <br />needed safety equipment The required number and type of respirators, lifelines, <br />warning signs, and safety nets, special face and eye protection, hearing protection, and <br />other worker protection. <br /> <br />21. In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, hospital, or physician that is reasonably accessible in <br />terms of time and distance to the work site, a person who has a valid certificate in first <br />aid training will be available at the work site to render first aid. <br />22. A comprehensive first aid plan is necessary for any confined space entry. <br /> <br />7. PRE DEMOLITION CONSIDERATIONS <br /> <br />1. All potential sources of ignition will be evaluated and the necessary corrective measures <br />taken. <br /> <br />2. When storing debris or combustible material inside a structure, such storage will not <br />obstruct or adversely affect the means of exit. <br /> <br />3. Electrical wiring and equipment for providing light, heat, or power will be installed by a <br />competent person and inspected regularly, <br /> <br />4.
