Staff present: Assistant City <br />Manager/Services Jorge Vera, City Clerk Jane A. Hines, Purchasing Agent Marc Tulloch, Assistant <br />City Attorney Fernando Amuchastegui, City Manager Alan J. Cohen, and Administrative <br />Coordinator Luz Rey, City Clerk's Office. Public Works Director Gio Batista asked that everyone <br />be sure to sign in as this is a mandatory meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The deadline for submission of Request for Proposals documents is Wednesday, August 10, 2011 <br />at 10:00 a.m., at which time those sealed responses will be publicly opened. Any additional <br />questions are required to be in writing and may be submitted up to five (5) days before the opening <br />(at the close of business, Friday, August 5, 2011), which will be answered and posted on <br />www.demandstar.com. You may email them to City Clerk Jane A. Hines at ihines({V,sibfl.net, or fax <br />them to 305-792-1563. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Director Batista gave an overview ofthe project noting that this is for the demolition offive (5) City <br />properties, and noted the aerial map that was included in the documents with the location of those <br />properties. For the property at 350 Sunny Isles Boulevard we have a Lease Agreement with Miami- <br />Dade County Water and Sewer (W ASD). It is a Treatment Facility/Pump Station with a holding <br />tank and parking lot. The holding tank will be demolished and the entire lot, including the parking <br />lot, will be leveled to the ground. W ASD is bound to provide the drawings. The Proposer shall <br />meet with and provide W ASD with all necessary documents and tests that the agency requires for <br />the demolition of the existing holding tank. This is more than a demolition project, and we will <br />provide all information needed to accomplish the demolition. Whatever W ASD wants, we do, and <br />whatever we do must be approved by W ASD. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Director Batista opened the meeting to questions from the prospective bidders. <br /> <br />QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS FROM PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1. What is the extent of demolition, what point is existing lines? <br />For all properties it shall he as per the RFP. As to the \VASD property, demolition of <br />propert) up to wet wl'll as per WASD and parking lot are to the west of the tank. <br />Demolish tank to grade and remove all aspects of the parking and the tank as allowed <br />h) WASD. (See attached Lease Agreement for additional information on approvals) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. What are your expectations, the entire holding tank, may be 15 feet below ground? <br />Level the surfaCl" ell" ation 0, above ground to grade. Remove the tank entirely and <br />replace with suitable Ii 11 up to grade.
