<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach: Special Inspection Services <br />RFO No. 11-07-11 <br /> <br />c <br /> <br />Design Proiect #2 - SR 704 Rovale Park Replacement Bridge. Town of Palm Beach, FL <br />NOTE: This project was listed previously as a eM project experience. <br /> <br /> <br />c <br /> <br />URS provided full Design Services and Cons for the Royal Park Bridge is a signature project for the Florida <br />Department of Transportation. Located over the Intracoastal Waterway, this twin-double leaf bascule bridge <br />connects the City of West Palm Beach and the Town of Palm Beach. The replacement of this bridge became <br />an emergency project when, during a scour repair project, it was discovered that Marine Borers had eaten <br />through the wood piling supporting the bridge. The project has a $50.8 million dollar construction cost and <br />the construction contract was for 1100 days. The design team for the project plans was lead by URS/E.C. <br />Driver and Associates (A subsidiary of URS Corporation). <br /> <br />In addition to the bascule bridge replacement and new bascule spans, this project included the design and <br />construction of a parallel, variable depth, arched, driven pile supported, cast-in-place segmental approach <br />spans that are just over 1,000 feet in length. Also included are; park improvements on both ends of the <br />bridge, a pedestrian bridge under the first segmental span <br />and several blocks of urban roadway reconstruction.
