The structure for the bascule span includes a
superstructure of steel plate girders with a composite exodermic deck and
a substructure consisting of the existing and modified foundation for the
bascule piers and existing bascule towers which enclose the counterweight
along with the machinery and electrical equipment. The bascule piers are
supported on 96-inch drilled shafts. The superstructure type for the
approach spans arc steel girders and a substructure consisting of cast-in-
place concrete piers supported on a cast-in-place foundation cap with
96-inch diameter drilled shafts. The span length for the bascule span is
95 feet between centerline of bearing and centerline of rack and 115 feet
between the centerline of the basculc piers. The span arrangement for the
west side approach is a fourteen span units consisting of the first five
spans of 30 feet, and the following nine spans of 70 feet adjacent to the
bascule span. The cast side approaches consist of nine span units of 70
feet each. The total length of the bridge is 1545 feet. Work under his
supervision started approximately half way under the rehabilitation
process and consisted of pier construction, steel span assembling and
installation, historical concrete restoration on bascule towers, bascule
machinery fabrication, and installation, roadway construction, drainage,
signalization, lighting, signing and pavement markings.

Senior Project Engineer, Group 93 A, B, & C, FDOT District Five,
Belleview-Ocala, Florida (02/08-6/20/08): A series of 12 projects
(approximately $80 million estimated construction amount) ranging from
new bridge construction, new roadway alignment and construction,
milling and resurfacing, drainage, sod installation, signing and markings,
signalization. \'{fork in conjunction with County and City of Ocala, Utility
Companies, and several different Contractors on some of the projects that
were within the limits of the City of Ocala.

Senior Project Engineer, Hendry County CR 833, Devil's Garden,
Florida (02/08-8/11/08): A rDOT Local Agency Program (LAP)
project with Hendry County.
