Analysis and design of bridge-mounted structures for Florida Turnpike Bridge,
Project # 97871-3398. In this project, Mr. Borojerdi designed a structural support
system to be attached to the bridge for the bridge-mounted support sign structures,
calculated all the reactions, designed the attachment, and selected the members for
the frame structures in order to receive the sign.
walls, which were supported by the pile foundation in Monroe County Project #
90060-3589. Mr. Borojerdi designed the pile foundation, calculated all the loading
and reactions and designed the wall and footings to support these cast-in-place
concrete retaining wal1s.
This project includes urbanization of Pines Boulevard, (a State Road). Mr.
Borojerdi was hired as a specialty engineer to the contractor when two of the
seven drill shafts on the project were found to be questionable. Mr. Borojerdi
wrote the scope for the EAR, performed the structural engineering analysis and
calculation for two of the shafts which were in question and, after the analysis,
modified the foundation by designing additional wings to the cast drill shaft in
order to meet the overturning moment requirement acceptable to FOOT. This
design and calculation was submitted, approved and certified by the specialty
engineer, Mr. Borojerdi.
