Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting December 15, 2016 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br />improvement because at first they had issues with doing this, give us access along the back of <br />it along the water to be able to connect the bay -walk through there. <br />Commissioner Goldman said she has one comment that she made while meeting this week <br />and that was because of the way this contract is drafted and hold harmless indemnities, she <br />was wondering whether or not a Phase I Environmental Study had been conducted or would <br />be conducted in connection with this lease, and any improvements that were made by the <br />City. City Manager Russo said yes, and we did look into that and there was one that he <br />believes was older and he believes that we will at least do or make sure it is current for at <br />least Phase I Analysis of that land before we enter into the lease. Commissioner Aelion said <br />they took away the source where they had approximately two miles into the ocean, and now <br />this is going back on Biscayne Bay which is a much more secure location. <br />Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2016-2645 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br />10K. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Accepting a <br />Donation of Two (2) Wild Lime Trees and Eight (8) Passion Flower Vines from Keith <br />and Fang Oliver for the Butterfly Garden at Gateway Park; Authorizing the City <br />Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an <br />Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Commissioner Goldman reported this is a gift to <br />the City for a Butterfly Garden that is going to be planted. City Manager Russo said yes, that <br />has been partially installed already, and we will have to be making some adjustments for a <br />statue installation that we talked about. These plants are part of the process to attract <br />Butterflies, and they will be planted to the back of the Stage area. Commissioner Goldman <br />said they are serving as host plants for that purpose. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2016-2646 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br />IOL. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />the Donation of Surplus Computer Equipment to Miami -Dade County Public Schools <br />and South Florida Digital Alliance; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things <br />Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Chief Information Officer Derrick Arias reported <br />this is our regular donation of surplus equipment that we have accumulated over the past <br />year. He has heard back from the School and they will be taking six (6) of the laptops and <br />the rest of the equipment will be going to the South Florida Digital Alliance to be refurbished <br />and put back into the community. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />
