<br />Regular City Commission Meeting Summary Minutes <br /> <br />April 18, 2002 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />Commissioner Goodman asked why there are three access areas for the park and Mr. Puig <br />said that it was for pedestrian convenience. Mayor Samson asked if a second floor could <br />be added to the proposed one story building, and he suggested that it be seriously <br />considered. There was discussion about how the 14 parking spaces would be used. <br />Commissioner Goodman suggested having a series of workshops to involve the public in <br />the decision of the park and building design. Mayor Samson said that rather than voting <br />on this issue, he'd prefer to see other proposals and to have a workshop. After discussion <br />it was agreed to hold a Special City Commission meeting on Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at <br />7:30 p.m. (see Item 9F), to receive public input during a public hearing. <br /> <br />9F. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, <br />Amending Resolution No. 2002-430 Establishing a Revised Schedule for City <br />Commission Meetings for Calendar Year 2002, by Adding Special City Commission <br />Meetings on Tuesday, May 7, 2002*, and May 21, 2002, at 7:30 p.m.; Providing for <br />an Effecti ve Date. <br /> <br />Action: *[City Clerk's Note: amended at meeting to also add a Special City Commission <br />meeting on Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at 7:30 p.m.for a public hearing to consider Item 9E- <br />Design of City Park Located at North Bay Road and 181"1 Drive.] City Clerk Brown- <br />Morilla read the title as amended and reported. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioners Ede1cup and Kauffman reported they will not be able to attend the Special <br />Meeting on May 21, 2002. Commissioner Ede1cup and Mayor Samson emphasized that <br />the Special Meeting will have no add-ons. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ede1cup moved and Commissioner Kauffman seconded a motion to <br />approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2002-438 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 <br />in favor. <br /> <br />9G. Add-On <br />A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, FIOJida, Expressing <br />Support for CS/SB 1418 that Authorizes Creation of a Citizen Property Insurance <br />Corporation to Provide for Windstorm Insurance Rate Accountability; Strongly <br />Encouraging Governor Bush to Sign the Legislation; and Directing the City Clerk to <br />Forward a Copy ofthis Resolution to Governor Jeb Bush, and to Senator Ronald A. Silver, <br />Representative Sally A.
