<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting <br /> <br />June 17,2004 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Rorida <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Goodman moved and Commissioner Iglesias seconded a motion to adopt <br />the ordinance. Ordinance No. 2004-208 was adopted by a roll call vote of 5-0 in <br />favor. <br />Vote: <br /> <br />Commissioner Brezin <br />Commissioner Iglesias <br />Commissioner Thaler <br />Vice Mayor Goodman <br />Mayor Edelcup <br /> <br />yes <br />yes <br />yes <br />yes <br />yes <br /> <br />9. RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />9A. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, <br />Approving the Proposed Site Plan for the Casino Park Property Located at 17200 <br />Collins Avenue, as Prepared by O'Leary Design Associates, P.A. Attached as Exhibit <br />"A"; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate the Site <br />Plan; and Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title and City Manager Russo presented the proposed <br />Site Plan, and reported noting that the existing fence on the north side of the property is <br />to be replaced although it showed on the plan that the fence would remain. He said the <br />actual type of lighting of the park and parking lot will be determined on the detailed plans <br />by O'Leary. City Manager Russo noted that there is approximately 100' by 100' unused <br />piece of land targeted for the Miami-Dade Fire Service for an expansion and complete <br />rebuild of the Fire Station on 172nd Street. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: Arnold Taft; Gloria Taft <br /> <br />Mayor Edelcup said that the Fire Station building will be the responsibility of the County <br />and City Manager Russo said that is correct and that the City would be providing the <br />land. Vice Mayor Goodman asked who would be paying for the services provided by <br />O'Leary and City Manager Russo said that the developer agreed to pay for O'Leary's <br />time and work on this. Commissioner Thaler asked about benches in the park, and City <br />Manager Russo noted that there are about seven benches on the plan but they can place in <br />more benches. Gloria Taft asked if a higher fence can be placed between the park and <br />their complex, and City Manager Russo said that the existing fence is a 5-foot chain <br />length fence with a flat top on it, and that it would be replaced with a picket fence and <br />could possibly go 6 to 8 feet high. <br />Vice Mayor Goodman moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to approve <br />the resolution. Resolution No. 2004-683 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />6 <br />
