<br /> <br />Section 3 <br />Scope of Services I Technical Specifications <br /> <br />3.1 SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, (the "City") a municipality located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, <br />seeks Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") responses from interested licensed civil engineering <br />professionals ("Consultants") to submit statements of qualifications to design a permissible set of street <br />and drainage improvement plans as described within this RFQ. <br /> <br />This RFQ is for the 100% complete design development for the construction of a drainage system along <br />174th Street (see attached aerial) from Collins Avenue west to just beyond the first complex curve. The <br />envisioned drainage system shall alleviate the stormwater runoff on the roadway in the area and <br />discharge it into a deep well or an outfall or a combination. The Consultant shall demonstrate an <br />understanding of the area as well as applicable solutions including but not limited to the ability to provide <br />and justify the design development and construction implications of an outfall line, the design <br />development and construction implications of a deep well in the area, and the design development and <br />construction implications of an exfiltration system, that would allow for the proper drainage of standing <br />water or the potential of standing storm water runoff in the area. <br /> <br />Consultant must demonstrate his/her qualifications by including experience in the areas of stormwater <br />system designs and justification in similar areas, Boundary/Topographic survey development or <br />procurement, procurement and review of field tests, procurement and review of field geotechnical <br />reports, Utility data collection, sub-surface survey, percolation tests, and other applications necessary to <br />ensure that all field considerations are obtained prior to the commencement of a design. <br /> <br />The task of the Consultant shall include but shall not be limited to applying Miami-Dade County <br />stormwater design standards to the area impacted, providing a complete site/area assessment, <br />coordinating with City staff and other agencies as necessary to ensure that all elements of design and <br />design implications are clearly identified, accepted/rejected, and incorporated into a final permissible <br />design for construction, providing 100% complete designs for the implementation of an approved storm <br />system, and other related services as deemed necessary. <br /> <br />Consultant must provide sufficient information that clearly demonstrates the Consultant's ability to <br />provide such services in a prompt and efficient manner. This includes but is not limited to the <br />Consultant's ability to coordinate with Miami-Dade County DERM staff, City staff, Owners (impacted by <br />construction), and others for preliminary reviews and comments, the Consultant's ability to effectively <br />move the project to fruition (from design development through permitting and subsequently to project <br />close-out), as well as the Consultant's previous projects with similar parameters. <br /> <br />The services contemplated are professional in nature. It is understood that the selected Consultant is of <br />a professional status, licensed to perform in the State of Florida and licensed for all applicable <br />professional discipline(s) requiring licenses. <br /> <br />3.2 PROPOSED PROJECT GENERAL REOUIREMENTS <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach I Request for Qualifications No. 11-11-02 <br /> <br />
