<br />Preview <br /> <br />Page 1 of2 <br /> <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br /> <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />The Honorable Mayor and City Commission <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Priscilla Walker, Assistant to City Manager/Human Resources <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />12/15/2011 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Drug-Free Workplace Program Policy Amendments <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission consider the attached resolution approving <br />the City of Sunny Isles Beach Drug-Free Workplace Program Policy, as amended. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach is sub-recipient of American Recovery and Reinvestment <br />Act (ARRA) grant funds administered through Miami-Dade Transit (MDT). MDT is the <br />grantee of the Federal Transit Administration (FT A). All sub-recipients are required to <br />have a Drug-Free Workplace Program Policy that includes specific elements covered in <br />the FTA Regulations 49CFR Part 655. <br /> <br />In sum, the policy must contain the following elements: <br /> <br />. Approval by governing board or other "final authority" for the agency <br />· Identity of contact person <br />· Employee categories subject to testing <br />· Prohibited behavior <br />. Testing policy & procedures (employees testing requirements) <br />. Behavior that constitutes a refusal to submit to a test <br />. Consequences for an employee who has a verified positive test result <br />. Consequences for an employee found to have an alcohol concentration of 0.02 or <br />greater but less than 0.04, and a policy regarding secondary testing upon receipt of <br />a negative-dilute result from the Medical Review Officer. <br /> <br />http://sibagenda.sibfl.net/agenda/Preview.aspx?I temID=667 &MeetingID=O&MeetingDate... 12/8/2011 <br />
