West Construction believes our design build approach is quite compatible and well suited to the goals of the City of Sunny Isles. We believe that the canopy structures have been designed to cover the majority of the playground while still complementing the areas of Heritage and Golden Shores Park. The poles have been placed so that they are free from any safety zones in regards to the playgrounds. The fabric used is a high density polyethylene and will withstand the environment associated with the beaches. Good communication is the key to a successful project. The design team gains a better understanding of the User and Owner's requirements, while the Users and Owner gain a better understanding of what the project will be. A better understanding, on both sides, makes a better building for the Owner and this is achieved through meeting with the City Officials to understand their goals and expectations. We will meet with the city to discuss our methods for removing and replacing the playground surface so that it is acceptable to the City. In that regard, West Construction, D.W. Recreation Services and Superior Shade have reviewed the scope of services sections of the solicitation and toured the existing site to better understand what these particular projects present. By working with D.W. Recreation Services we feel that we can provide the city with installation at the most intimate level. D.W. Recreation Services has intimate knowledge of many of the challenges and issues at these two parks. We are aware of the original issues of discolora- tion of the PIP at Heritage Park. Since D.W. Recreation Services installed the playgrounds at these i parks they are aware of all the undergrounds and the challenges you have been experiencing with the sub surfacing at Heritage Park. D.W. Recreation Services, Inc. comes with many years experience in erecting canopy structures and has erected over 75 throughout South Florida. West Construction and D.W. Recreation Services, Inc. have a great repore with REP Services, Inc. and will be able to contact them regarding any issues with the existing surfacing or playground that they have supplied.
