FEMA ROADWAY AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS - MIAMI, FL Design Engineer in charge of providing services to the Miami-Dade Public Works Department for the implementation of drainage improvements in areas of Dade County that were flooded by Hurricane Irene and the No-name storm and determined eligible for FEMA funds to correct the damage. These projects involved the provision of drainage systems to prevent future flooding as well as roadway reconstruction or resurfacing to repair damage to the roadways from being inundated by water resulting in base damage. The civil design services required for the evaluation of the existing drainage system and the new drainage system through the use of French drains and two outfalls on the Black Creek Canal. The analysis of the existing and proposed conditions was done with ICPR software. The scope of services included the coordination of utilities having an impact on the project site.
