Section 3 Scope of Services / Technical Specifications 3.1 SCOPE OF SERVICES `'"r or wV4 re The City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, (the "City') a municipality located in Miami -Dade County, Florida, seeks Request for Proposals ("RFP' responses from interested licensed and certified Florida general contracting professionals ( "Contractors' to submit proposals to provide the City of Sunny Isles Beach with ALL the necessary work (including drawings and special inspections), labor, and equipment to rehabilitate and refurbish an existing concrete tie beam in accordance to standard rehabilitative practices for a similar structure in accordance with the Florida Building Code (latest version) and the City's Building Department. The work is located at the restrooms located north of 19111 Collins Avenue within the "beach access" or pathway to the beach from Collins Avenue. The concrete tie beam to be rehabilitated and refurbished is located inside the women's restroom which is currently closed. This is a turn -key operation which shall include all signed and sealed engineering reports, necessary engineered drawings by a professional structural engineer licensed in the State of Florida, all necessary inspections, and all rehabilitative construction to ensure that the restroom and building are fully functional. Contractor must demonstrate his /her qualifications by providing experience in the areas of rehabilitative work on similar beach projects with similar conditions. Contractor must provide sufficient information that clearly demonstrates the Contractor's ability to provide such services in a prompt and efficient manner. This includes but is not limited to the Contractor's ability to coordinate work with engineers, permitting agencies, property owners, and government staff. It is understood that the selected Contractor /Structural Engineer is of a professional status, licensed to provide services in the State of Florida and licensed for all applicable professional discipline(s) requiring licenses. 3.2 PROJECT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS A. This RFP is intended to ensure that any successful Contractor provides a full turn -key operation. Below is a list of additional requirements that form part of this project: 1. In addition to the parameters already specified in this RFP, Work shall include but shall not be limited to the inspection of the tie beam, reporting on the condition of the tie beam by a structural engineer licensed in the State of Florida, a statement of the type of repairs necessary by an engineer licensed in the State of Florida, signed and sealed drawings and calculations from a structural engineer licensed in the State of Florida that provides for an accurate depiction of the rehabilitative measures required to bring the structure into conformance with applicable codes and requirements, permitting by Contractor with all necessary documentation and applications to ensure that the work can be performed in City of Sunny Isles Beach I Request for Proposal No. 12 -01 -01
