I, ([S) Consulting Engineering & Science, Inc, 4. Approach / Methodology ) The City of Sunny Isles Beach has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the services of a civil engineering professionals to submit qualifications to design a permittable set of street and drainage improvement plans for the 100% complete design development for the construction of a drainage system along 174th Street from Collins Avenue (SRA-IA) west to just beyond the first complex curve. The proposed drainage system will alleviate the stormwater runoff on the roadway in the area and discharge it into a deep well or an outfall or a combination. I I Ie) I I I ) I I The RFQ states that the selected Consultant shall provide Civil Engineering, Survey and Geotechnical services for the development of construction plans for the proposed improvements, The work shall include, but not be limited to, conducting boundary/topographic surveys, geotechnical surveys, utility data collection, sub-surface . surveys, percolation tests and other applications deem necessary to design the drainage system for this portion of the corridor; coordination with the staff from the Miami-Dade County DERM, the City of Sunny Isles, Miami-Dade County, private owners and others for preliminary reviews and comments; preparation of construction plans; permitting and project closeout. The CES Team project approach is task based incorporating the scope of services that are required for the success of this project. The major tasks are to include: ) t ) 1. Task: Pre-Engineering & Data Collection 2. Task: Design Development 3. Task: Permitting 4. Task: Construction Documents 5. Task: Bidding & Award 6, Task: Administration Task 1: Pre-Engineering & Conceptual Design This task is easily the most important to the overall success of the project. In addition to initiating a working relationship with the City's project team, it is the task where most of the important information for the project will be collected, assembled and generated. This task will begin conducting the necessary field survey such as geotechnical, soil surveys, boundaries, topography, sub-surface surveys, etc, Deliverables will include geotechnical and soil survey repOlis, along with boundary/topographic surveys, etc. A detailed inventory of the existing conditions will be prepared which will include but not limited to existing roadway characteristics, existing drainage systems, existing right-of-way easements, existing utilities, etc. Meetings with all the appropriate regulatory agencies to review the project and establish each agency's conditions of approval will also be conducted.
