This area had <br />experienced localized flooding during heavy <br />rainfall events due to the lack of a positive <br />drainage outfall. The drainage <br />improvements included the extensions of <br />48-inch and 54-inch drainage culverts within <br />the Hospital District; the modification to an <br />existing control structure on the east side of <br />Biscayne Boulevard and the installation of <br />drainage wells within the Hospital District <br />area.
