Le Cartier Condominiums, 201 178th Drive, Sunny Isles Beach,
Florida 33160 (May 2010 to September 2010) Le Cartier
Condominiums is an existing apartment complex located in the city of
Sunny Isles Beach, comprised of 160 units divided among 7 attached
buildings of 5 stories each. The complex is approaching its 40th
anniversary and has extensive concrete deterioration damage along its
balconies, walkways and most exterior surfaces, due mostly to water
intrusion and its proximity to salt water. KM Engineering Consultants,
Inc. (KMEC) was contracted to carry out a study of the damage and
provide an engineer's report of the findings and remediation
recommendations. In addition we produced a set of construction
documents for the restoration of the complex. The restoration project
began in May 2010. KMEC will be managing the restoration process and
acting as liaison between all contractors involved and the board of
directors.
