Project highlights included a traffic
and circulation evaluation of existing park
conditions, extensive research of comparable
beach and boat launch facilities, and planning of
parking facilities. As one of seven heritage parks
of Miami-Dade County, Haulover Park has a long
history and is one of the most popular beaches in
the country. Through an integrated planning effort
incorporating park program planning and
transportation planning, over 23 acres of parking
will be restored to open green space while
expanding the park's services and infastructure
to accommodate growing population needs.
Development of a new internal parking circulation
network for vehicles and pedestrians involved
coordination with the Florida Department of
Transportation and Miami-Dade County Transit.
Capital improvements determined during planning
are estimated at $80 million.

Cost: $81,500 (design)
Project Size: 246 acres

Completed: Ongoing

Miami-Dade County, FL, USA
Client: Miami-Dade County Park
and Recreation Department

" 1&);
.l~

;/

'/:':

J'~ '~;
. &

~COM

City of Sunny Isles Beach I Design & Permitting Services of the Intracoastal Parks RFQ No. 12-04.04

27
