Mr. Mugmon directs the <br />Wayfinding Practice at Design + Planning's Orlando office. <br />He has worked in a variety of wayfinding contexts including: <br />Municipal, Main Streets and Urban Areas, Institutional and <br />Educational Campuses, Public Parks and Trails, Scenic <br />Highways, and National Historic Sites. <br /> <br />Mr. Mugmon has over twelve years experience in <br />development of wayfinding systems, interpretive planning <br />and community branding. AECOM understands the need <br />to create an environment that engages the public. Our <br />wayfinding systems and environmental graphics will <br />engage, direct, inform and enhance one's experience in a <br />manner that reinforces the aesthetics and goals of your <br />project. We will create a design that communicates direct <br />and effective information for circulation and wayfinding and <br />enhances placemaking. <br /> <br />Project Experience <br /> <br />City of Bradenton - Wayfinding, Bradenton, FL <br />Mr. Mugmon served as Project Manager and Senior Designer <br />for the coastal community wayfinding project. As the <br />municipal seat of Manatee County and a historic coastal <br />community with a vibrant downtown, Bradenton has many <br />visitors daily. I n an effort to educate visitors to stay and <br />enjoy the amenities ofthis wonderful city a wayfinding <br />system was designed to guide pedestrians and vehicles to <br />many top desti nations. Mr. Mugmon managed coordination <br />with the FDOT and FHWA and gained approvals for <br />implementation for design and fabrication of this vital sign <br />program which aides visitors navigate the community. <br /> <br />Downtown Orlando - Wayfinding, Orlando, FL <br />Mr. Mugmon served as Project Manager and Senior Designer <br />on the Orlando Wayfinding Project. Downtown Orlando <br />is undergoing major redevelopment with a number of <br />residential, commercial and event venues planned. With <br />the tremendous amount of developments planned and the <br />growth of downtown residents and workers, the volume of <br />traffic will soon create overwhelming wayfinding challenges <br />for Downtown Orlando. AECOM designed a functional, <br />creative and flexible system of signage to provide clear <br />access to Downtown Orlando's many destinations. In the <br />last year the city underwent a comprehensive study with <br />the goal of analyzing these wayfinding challenges and <br />proposing a cohesive and implementable solution that <br />will respond to the downtown's growth. The designs on <br />this page represent some of the results of the study and <br />recommendations for a complete wayfinding system for <br />Downtown Orlando. <br /> <br />University of Central Florida Wayfinding, Orlando, FL <br />Senior Designer and Project Manager to design a wayfinding <br />master plan in an effort to help enhance the visual <br />campus branding and sense of place. Additionally, the <br />wayfinding system shall aide visitors in finding their desired <br />destination on campus. The university has many visitors <br />in attendance every day. The introduction of a clear and <br />legible wayfinding system has increased the comfort level <br />of the visitor through the use of appropriate and well-placed <br />signage, providing the reassurance that they are heading in <br />the correct direction. The project included gateway, digital <br />kiosk, vehicular and pedestrian directional signs. UCF is the <br />largest school in Florida. As of 2009 enrollment consisted <br />of 60,000 Students making it the third largest in the United <br />States. <br /> <br />Florida Southern College - Wayfinding, Lakeland, FL <br />Mr. Mugmon worked as Environmental Graphic Designer <br />and Wayfinding Planner for Florida Southern College. <br />This National Historic Register and Frank Lloyd Wright <br />designed campus design process focused on placemaking <br />enhancements to this downtown college campus. As <br />part of this process AECOM assessed all pedestrian and <br />vehicular circulation at Florida Southern College.
