His experience includes soil investigation, foundation designs, piling works, ground <br />improvement works, vertical drains, slope stability analysis, overall stability of reinforced earth walls, and earth <br />works. He is familiar with field testing of soils, concrete, structural steel and asphalt in accordance with ASTM, <br />ACI, AASHTO, AWS, AISC and F.D.O.T. standards. Mr. Villegas has extensive experience in managing large <br />government contracts for the F.D.O.T., The Turnpike District, Palm Beach, Broward, Dade, Martin and Fort <br />Pierce Counties. <br />Geotechnical Engineering Representative Project Highlights <br />As a geotechnical engineer, Mr. Villegas has fifteen years of experience in geotechnical investigation and <br />evaluation for transportation, commercial, and residential projects. His experience includes subsurface <br />investigations, shallow and deep foundation analyses and pavement design. Mr. Villegas has been involved in <br />roadway, bridge, retaining wall, retention pond, ground subsidence and vibration monitoring projects, as well <br />as a variety of single and multi -story structures. Some of the most representative geotechnical projects follow: <br />Roadway Experience Includes: <br />• Keller Road Expansion, Project included widening of existing alignment and construction of new alignment <br />for a total length of 4 miles. As the project staff geotechnical engineer for the project, planned the <br />geotechnical investigation, reviewed investigation results, prepared interpretative report, subgrade <br />improvement for road works, slope stability analysis, designed piled embankment, ground treatment <br />scheme for peat soil by total removal and replacement along with vertical drains, and surcharge loading. <br />• Bobby Jones Expressway (1 -520), Responsible for the field exploration of a 7 miles section of the highway <br />including field exploration over the Augusta River. Supervised a crew of 5 drills rigs and a barge rig over a <br />period of 2 months and finished field exploration 2 months earlier than predicted. <br />• County of Greenville, South Carolina, Performed consulting services for Greenville County evaluating the <br />pavement condition of approximately 1500 miles of paved Greenville County roads and compiling the field <br />information into a computer database, to determine appropriate maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation <br />activities for each road; and to estimate a budgetary cost for each activity. <br />• ESTES Express Lines- Expansion.
