Snyder Tennis Center North Miami Beach, Florida The main goal of the Snyder Tennis Center redevelop- ment is to increase public visibility, improve the spatial organization of the ten- nis center complex, and enhance the overall pub- lic park experience. The master plan includes a new two-story 7,500-square-foot clubhouse/retail building set closer to Dixie Highway for heightened curb appeal and exposure. The clubhouse will include a pro shop, café restaurant, retail space, locker facilities, office area, and outdoor dining/terraces. The layout of the tennis courts created a strong con- nectivity between all courts and the clubhouse. Twelve resurfaced clay courts and seven new hardcourts complete the core of the ten- nis center complex. There are two tournament courts placed at prominent loca- tions near the clubhouse and at the intersection of two main pedestrian cir- culation spines. Spectator viewing was provided by covered stadium seating for both courts and an arbor- covered terrace adjacent to the clubhouse. The master plan also includes an expanded parking lot, two racquetball courts with a tennis hitting wall, a playground, sand volleyball court, shade pavilions, walking paths through the mature canopy of the Daniel D. Diefenbach Bicentennial Park, and a large open lawn area to accommodate outdoor events in conjunction with tournaments.
