Snyder <br />Tennis Center <br />North Miami Beach, Florida <br />The main goal of the Snyder <br />Tennis Center redevelop- <br />ment is to increase public <br />visibility, improve the spatial <br />organization of the ten- <br />nis center complex, and <br />enhance the overall pub- <br />lic park experience. The <br />master plan includes a new <br />two-story 7,500-square-foot <br />clubhouse/retail building set <br />closer to Dixie Highway for <br />heightened curb appeal and <br />exposure. The clubhouse <br />will include a pro shop, café <br />restaurant, retail space, <br />locker facilities, office area, <br />and outdoor dining/terraces. <br />The layout of the tennis <br />courts created a strong con- <br />nectivity between all courts <br />and the clubhouse. Twelve <br />resurfaced clay courts <br />and seven new hardcourts <br />complete the core of the ten- <br />nis center complex. There <br />are two tournament courts <br />placed at prominent loca- <br />tions near the clubhouse <br />and at the intersection of <br />two main pedestrian cir- <br />culation spines. Spectator <br />viewing was provided by <br />covered stadium seating for <br />both courts and an arbor- <br />covered terrace adjacent to <br />the clubhouse. <br />The master plan also <br />includes an expanded <br />parking lot, two racquetball <br />courts with a tennis hitting <br />wall, a playground, sand <br />volleyball court, shade <br />pavilions, walking paths <br />through the mature canopy <br />of the Daniel D.
