His 27- <br />year career has spanned a wide variety of project types including community centers, mixed- <br />use projects, libraries, places of worship, higher education facilities, concert halls, and cruise <br />passenger and ferry terminals. He has also led numerous institutions and public entities in <br />transportation-related and culturally signifi cant projects. He has served as the lead professional <br />for projects in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, France, and Southeast Asia. <br />He has designed state-of-the-art cruise passenger and ferry terminals for ports and state and <br />national government entities on four continents. He is a frequent speaker at international <br />conferences such as Seatrade, American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA), and the <br />International Association of Cities and Ports (IACP). <br />His current project experience includes: <br />Puerto Maya Pier Duty Free Building, Cozumel, Mexico. Mr. Levis was project manager <br />for this project, which involved designing a state-of-the-art over-water duty-free store on an <br />existing pier. The building serves as a new entranceway, funneling visitors to the retail village <br />adjacent to the pier. <br />Snyder Park Tennis Center, North Miami Beach, FL. Mr. Levis provided master planning <br />services, architectural design services, landscape architecture, civil engineering, and ecological <br />services for the development of a new 7,500 sf tennis center and café. Mr. Levis oversaw the <br />project manager, provided quality assurance, and was the client liaison throughout. Cost: <br />$5.5M <br />Mahogany Bay Destination Retail Village, Roatan Island, Honduras (Roatan Cruise <br />Terminal S.A. de C.V.). Mr. Levis was the partner-in-charge selected to design a new, <br />themed destination retail village comprising 17 buildings, and incorporating a multimodal <br />center. Coordinating a Florida and Honduras production team, Mr. Levis designed and oversaw <br />construction of every aspect of the $15M development. <br />Miami Dade College (MDC) Miami Culinary Institute, Wolfson Campus Building, <br />Miami, FL. Mr. Levis was the project principal for the architectural and engineering design <br />services for an eight-story culinary arts building with a wine-tasting center and mechanical <br />equipment roof level, situated on a demolished one-story, 4,100-square-foot building site. <br />The work involved design of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and conveyor <br />systems; planning of circulation spaces; hardscape and landscape design; engineering <br />coordination with adjacent overhead Metromover track, Metromover right-of-way, and existing <br />Miami Dade College chiller lines; design and coordination of new and existing support utilities, <br />new structural components with existing adjacent structures, maintenance of traffi c, and <br />construction staging; design of signage and graphics; and full construction administration <br />services. <br />Cruise Terminal at Port Rashid, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Mr. Levis served as design <br />principal for a new cruise ship terminal in Dubai which will be the premier facility in the Middle <br />East. The terminal is fl exible enough to handle home-port and port-of-call vessels at the same <br />time, with their unique processing protocols.
