13 U:39 rNo.NFCRe 4U[ INC. ..
The School District of Palm Beach County Civil
Engineering Services on Continuing Contract -
Sunrise Park Elementary School, Boca Raton, FL
Engineer of Record to design driveway realignment.
The scope of the project included design a paving,
grading and drainage plan, specifications and details
for the new driveway and drop offl pick up area. The
project's stormwater management will be handled
with dry retention and a roadside swale to meet the
water quantity and quality treatment volume
requirements for the limits of construction. Ross
Engineering was contracted under the Palm Beach
County School District Civil Engineering Continuing
Services.
Miami Dade County Public Schools, State School
SS -1 New Senior High School for Medical
Technology, Homestead, FL - The project that Mr.
Ross was the Engineer of Record for consisted of
converting an existing Homestead Hospital to a new
senior high school. This project is striving to achieve
LEED gold certification with a green roof. The paving
grading, drainage and utilities will be redesigned.
Major renovations will be done for the first and
second floors of the existing building.
City of Doral Stormwater Master Plan, City of
Doral, FL Engineer of Record for hydrologic and
hydraulic modeling for the watershed. Assisted in the
review of the existing soil data from the Soil Survey
of Collier County published by the United States
Department of Agriculture (USDA) Soil Conservation
Services, Miami -Dade GIS System, and the SFWMD
DB- HYDRO, In addition, we reviewed the geologic
and topographic information from appropriate
Quadrangle Maps published by the United States
Geological Survey (USGS) and other reliable data.
MDX Blue Lagoon volumetric Analysis, Miami -
Dade County, FL Mr.. Ross was the Engineer of
Record for the XP -SWMM flood control modeling
and created a volumetric analysis report utilizing
Miami -Dade County Department of Environmental
Resource Management (DERM) C -4 models for the
5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 year events. A total of 40
model runs were performed for three alternative
scenarios for existing conditions and future
conditions. The modeling report was then assembled
to support a Miami -Dade County Expressway project,
SR 836 (Dolphin) Ramp widening, to obtain an ERP
permit with SFWMD. The ramp widening was
proposed to fill in a portion of the blue lagoon located
adjacent to Miami International Airport. We were
hired as a sub - consultant to tiie MDX General
Robert J. Ross, PeEa, LEE®, AP
Sr. Project Manager
Consultant, HNTB, their drainage sub - consultant,
APCTE.
SFWMD S -124 Gated Culvert Replacement
Mr.Ross was Project Manager on the S -124 structure
replacement project located 13 miles west of Ft.
Lauderdale on the L -35A borrow canal north of the
junction of the borrow canal and the North New River
Canal in Broward County. The structure is within the
Ft. Lauderdale Field Station service area in Broward
County (Section 5, Township 50, Range 40), and is
owned and operated by the SFWMD. It is part of the
C -13 and North New River basins. In addition to the
civil design drawings, Ross Engineering was
responsible to complete a very detailed hydraulic
design report using information from the District's
DB -Hydro database to statistically model the new
structure using historical flow and stage data, both
instantaneous and daily. A levee road ramp was
designed with compensating treatment for water
quality volume handled in retention swales on the
east side of the canal. The hydraulic design report
concluded that three 8'x6' CIP box culverts were
sufficient to pass the required 550cfs discharge
under extreme event conditions. A by -p ass
was designed to allow for construction in the wet
season under equally severe conditions.
S.F.W.M.D. Big Cypress Basin (BCB) —
Immokalee Stormwater Master Plan Mr. Ross was
Project Manager for the Immokalee Stormwater
Master Plan Study. Scope includes Data collection,
SWMM Modeling (including groundwater recharge
and event mean concentration water quality
modeling) that simulates the full hydrologic cycle,
continuous simulation modeling of long term rainfall
(using DB -Hydro Database and BCB gauges ) as
part of the calibration and verification of the model,
water quality assessment report, engineering
evaluation, environmental evaluation, flood control
improvement plan, wetland flowway improvement
plan, water quality improvement plan, alternatives
analysis for 6 options, conceptual design of chosen
option, conceptual ERP master plan permit and
easement identification, and funding method
analysis.
19
