r 7 <br />Y1$�� <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />CALTRAN <br />Continuing Professional Architectural and Engineering Services <br />ENGINEERING GROUP <br />f l Mr. Calderon has already had the pleasure of serving the residents of City of Sunny Isles Beach by <br />providing Sunny Isles Daycare on Collins Avenue with a traffic study to analyze a variance <br />considering the traffic impact of a change of use of a store - front. The proposed change of use <br />involved a renovation of the store -front from a bank facility to a daycare facility in the Winston <br />j Towers. This project required to present to the City Commission the findings of the traffic analysis <br />due to the proposed use. Residents have being requesting this type of service for many years. The <br />commission granted the proposed variance. <br />Additionally, Mr. Calderon is familiar with the recently acquired oceanfront land In Sunny Isles Beach <br />on Collins Ave by the Fortune Realty. The new developments that Fortune and his partners are <br />planning to build, such as another luxury condo tower between 50 and 60 stories high, will potentially <br />cause an impact on the current traffic conditions at Sunny Isles Beach. This experience gave Mr. <br />Calderon understanding of the needs and concerns that the City Board, officials and residents have <br />regarding traffic and transportation within the City. <br />Therefore, Mr. Calderon acknowledges that the City of Sunny Isles Beach requires a consultant with <br />capacity and knowledge to quickly respond and to solve problems related to transportation and traffic <br />engineering. Mr. Calderon's previous work on similar contracts will efficiently convey ideas, perform <br />assessments, as well as, produce reports, memorandums and analyses for the City of Sunny Isles <br />Beach that could encompass the following products: <br />Traffic Engineering Studies: Mr. Calderon has performed multiple traffic impact studies, capacity <br />analysis, intersection and corridor analysis following the latest ITE's practices, and manuals for <br />parking generation, Trip Generation, MUTCD, HCM, and procedures use for the purpose to establish <br />a solutions to the traffic and transit mobility as well as the improvement of safety particularly of non - <br />motorized road users. <br />A latest project lead by Mr. Calderon regarding Traffic Engineering <br />Studies is the Gate Assessment for Polynesian at Islands at Doral <br />(2012): This project includes a comprehensive assessment to identify <br />needs, and elaborate recommendations for an entrance gate system of <br />Polynesian at Islands at Doral in the City of Doral within Miami -Dade <br />County. The traffic study documents field observations, data collection, traffic engineering analysis, <br />development of conclusions, and recommendations pertaining the installation of gate access system as <br />required by the City of Doral procedure for residential community road closures, gates access control <br />and traffic calming controls for public and private roads, as well as, Miami -Dade County Street <br />Closure Procedure.
