1 G. BATISTA & ASSOCIATES FMVI r OPTIMIZE Any engineer can put a design on paper. It is an entirely different set of technical skills to make this design one that is practical, useful for its intended purposes and cost - effective. During the design phase, we strive to optimize our designs. Typical engineering systems are described by very large numbers of variables, and it is the designer's task to specify appropriate values for these variables. Skilled designers utilize their knowledge, experience, and judgment to specify these variables and design effective engineered systems. Because of the size and complexity of the typical. design task, however, even the most skilled designers are unable to take into account all of the variables simultaneously. Design optimization is the application of techniques to engineering systems to assist the designers in improving the system's performance, reliability, and /or cost. Optimization methodologies can be applied during the design development stage to ensure that the finished design will have the high performance, high EMENEW reliability, and /or low cost. Alternatively, optimization i methods can be applied to existing designs to identify potential design improvements. At G. Batista & Associates, we are dedicated to providing our customers with the tools and knowledge required to generate practical designs that are useful in the real world. Greg Batista's personnel have extensive experience in applying optimization methodologies to improve designs. MIGRATE "Migrate" represents the all - important task of successfully transferring the design from the engineering office to the construction field and ultimately a finished product. "Migration" is the process whereby we support the contractor in the proper execution of the project from start to finish. These items are: 1. Providing the client /contractor with a full set of documents as agreed with transmittals. 2. Coordinating and instituting the RFI system with the contractor and client. 3. Coordinating and instituting a submittal and shop drawing submission and approval process. 4. Coordinating site visits and inspections with the client /contractor. 5. Coordination for attendance of construction weekly meetings (if required by client or contractor). 6. "Migration" also includes successfully closing out the project at the time of construction completion. These items include: a. Oversee final inspections b.
