<br />SURVEYING AND MAPPING SERVICES
<br />The Survey Departmentat K &S offers a full range of surveying
<br />and mapping services. They perform Boundary Surveys,
<br />Topographic Surveys, Hydrographic Surveys, Construction
<br />Surveys and Specific Purpose Surveys. In addition, they
<br />perform numerous surveying and mapping services for
<br />the FDOT, including horizontal and vertical control, cross -
<br />sectioning, right of way mapping, monumentation of right
<br />of way corridors, Bridge Data Surveys, Digital Terrain
<br />Models (DTM's), and Route Surveys. They also perform
<br />ALTA (American Land Title Association) Surveys, Wetland/
<br />Mitigation Surveys, Environmental Surveys, Platting Services,
<br />and expert witness testimony. All of these tasks are
<br />performed utilizing the most current data collection systems
<br />and CADD software from electronic field book collection
<br />to the latest global positioning system (GPS) equipment.
<br />Our 6 full -time field crews have extensive experience in
<br />performing all of these surveys and are equipped with
<br />state of the art equipment, including EFB compatible Total
<br />Stations, GPS, digital levels and reflectorless instruments.
<br />K &S is also very proud of the fact that we are Florida's
<br />leading GPS surveying firm. Our GPS equipment includes
<br />I I modern Trimble Dual- Frequency Receivers.
<br />Additionally, our field crews have received M.O.T.
<br />(Maintenance of Traffic) Training. Thus, they can work
<br />properly and safely in and around South Florida's busy
<br />roadways.
<br />HIGHWAY ENGINEERING SERVICES
<br />The Highway Engineering Division of K &S provides
<br />transportation engineering and related services on all
<br />types of highway and road projects, from access roads in
<br />residential areas, to multi -lane divided expressways with
<br />bridges, to tolls and interchanges for the FDOT and County
<br />and municipal road departments.A typical project includes
<br />the design of signalized intersections, signing and marking
<br />plans, closed storm drainage and retention pond systems,
<br />sound barrier walls, landscape plans, new street lighting
<br />system, design survey and utility location and coordination.
<br />The Division's current service offering includes geometric
<br />design, signing and pavement marking, signal design, lighting
<br />design, drainage and scour analysis, interchange design,
<br />control plans,utility and railroad coordination, and pavement
<br />design and safety reviews. Additionally, Division staff have
<br />expertise in Project Development and Environment (PD &E)
<br />studies and social /alternative systems studies.The Division's
<br />Vice President, Director, and senior project managers are all
<br />drawn from the FDOT and their experience and expertise
<br />is unparalleled in the State of Florida.And if you've driven
